Abstract

The article attempts to evaluate the potential impacts of social media on the information services provided by the High Court Judges’ Library, Odisha. All sorts of libraries today have extra obligations because of the enormous rise in knowledge and literature across all academic disciplines coupled with the development of information technology. Social media technologies of all kinds are now employed more frequently in library work at judicial libraries. The study aims to identify and examine various social media tools that are applied to library services. Using social media, judicial libraries advertise their services and resources to their users’ community. As social media is primarily being used to stay up with the rapidly growing modern trends, all judicial libraries must embrace social media to meet the information needs and seeking behaviours of users’ communities. The paper digs ground on how the systems and services of the High Court Judges library can be enhanced by embracing social media which could bring a significant impact on the legal systems and surroundings of the country.
