Abstract

Library services underwent a major transformation during the twenty-first century digital revolution which substantially transformed outreach operations and community participation needs. Social media platforms including Facebook along with Instagram and Twitter (X), YouTube, and TikTok have become significant factors that propel this change. Social media platforms offer an efficient channel for advertising the complete lineup of library resources and programs which tend to get minimal publicity. The library employs innovative content delivery systems to showcase its digital resources through online platforms while instructing users about resource access methods for superior service utilization. Short video formats on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts and TikTok deliver understandable guides that explain and simplify library resources for users. Digital collaborations between community partners enable both community programming expansion and the development of the library into a central center for civic and education activities. This paper studies how social media controls library outreach services as well as community partnerships by examining its dual benefits and obstacles. Social media provides libraries with tools to extend their boundaries and move past traditional lets to libraries to exceed physical limitations and historical communication system barriers. Moreover, this paper explains how libraries build partnerships through social media with schools along with local government institutions and cultural organizations and NGOs.
