Electronic resources play a significant role in facilitating access to millions of resources in an easy and convenient manner. The paper examines the use of electronic resources, the search techniques adopted while accessing the resources and the problems faced by the students pursuing various courses in the universities of Jammu & Kashmir. The study finds that the students in the university setup prefer to access information in both the formats i.e. electronic as well as in printed forms. The major electronic sources like e-books, e-newspapers and e-journals are mainly used by the students. Information is preferably accessed via Search engine (Google) and Databases (Emerald) by them. Simple search and Keyword search techniques are mainly used for browsing the needed information. Moreover, the research highlights that students in the university setup face a number of problems like electricity disruption, slow internet connectivity among others.
