Role of Academic Libraries in E-Learning Process in India

Abstract

ELearning is an important learning tool used by each academic/educational institution during the modern digital environment. It is used to promote and support the conventional learning system. Traditional teaching methods such as classroom teaching are not replaced by this ELearning system. With the help of modern teaching technology ELearning is performed to ensure the maximum active participation of learners all over the world. ELearning is only concerned with the online delivery of education, required information, and training, etc. During the lockdown crisis time, the classroom teaching method is converted to the eLearning teaching method. In this connection library and information, centres played a vital role during the eLearning process. This paper describes the definition of ELearning, two models of ELearning and ELearning tools used in the ELearning methods. The study attempts to identify the ELearning initiative and open courseware initiative in India.
