Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the factors which determine the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) of teachers on their job satisfaction (JS) and organizational engagement (OE). Teachers are being highlighted in this study as respondents. The sample consisted of 395 teachers from schools and colleges of Delhi-NCR as the nature of the work of most of the teachers is same in schools and colleges. The data has been collected using the convenience sampling method. Variables of EI, JS and OE have to be studied in depth among teachers. This is a study of 36 variables associated with various facts of EI, JS and OE. Previously developed and validated questionnaires for all the variables are assessed on a 5-point Likert scale. In order to estimate the variables, Paul E. Spectorin's Job satisfaction survey (1994), Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale (Wongand Law, 2002) and Avatar Sweet sixteen Employee engagement Survey(2013) have been used. By using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) techniques, the present research examined the relationships among the following variables. Components were extracted using principal components analysis (PCA) and rotated resulting in six component solutions.
