Abstract

Disaster recovery creates short-, medium- and long-term problems for those who are affected. To mitigate or restrict the negative economic consequences of the disaster a plan of action must be engaged as soon as possible. The purpose of this article is to contribute to the gap in the literature on processes for managing small business stakeholder recovery, from a project management perspective, from natural disasters. The article provides an overview of the current literature on project management, small business disaster recovery and develops and tests applied methods used to create a project management disaster recovery plan for business communities.
