An attempt is made in this paper to discuss the current concerns of manufacturing enterprises to include clean manufacturing strategies to implement green productivity management projects. A total system approach has been proposed for undertaking green productivity managemnt projects to attain the global objective of sustainable development. A few select Indian company cases have been presented to understand the modalities of implementing clean manufacturing practices.
