Fear Factor Among Health Professionals Working with PLHA with Special Reference to Bhopal and Ujjain

Abstract

The study is on fear factor among the health professionals especially in the HIV care settings in Bhopal and Ujjain. The study analysed that the female were more in the HIV care settings (80%) than the male. No transgender were found in the survey in the HIV care settings. It could be because, the transgenders are not in the mainstream of the society or lack of awareness among the community care centres. The study conducted in two districts. One was in Ujjain and second was in Bhopal, where a lot of transgender were found. Those people do not come to the society. Variation in anxiety was the findings in the study. The young people are less anxious and when people got older they become more anxious. According to the survey, married people were less anxious about the HIV disease. It could be the reason that people become settled in the middle ages of their life. That was supported by the gender factor. Female population were more in the survey. Once the women were settled in the life, offcourse by marriage, they had only the children and the supporting system. They do not become the main source of income in Indian families. Because they were taken care by the supporting system. The age group between 26 to 35 were having the less anxiety in their life especially when those health professionals were working in the HIV care settings. HIV education among married (M=26.94) people was less. They were less anxious than the unmarried (M=28.67) people. Female population (M=28.59) were having more anxiety than males population (M=25.50). The study showed that different age groups were having varied anxiety level. Between the age group of 18 to25 (M=29.82) and the age group of 26 to 35(M=29.00) were had less anxiety than the age group of 36& above (M=24.00).
