Staus of Mathematics Teaching at Elementary Level in Punjab

Abstract

The present research paper deals with status of teaching of Mathematics at elementary level in Punjab. The universe of this study includes all the government elementary schools in 22 districts of Punjab. Out of this universe, 3 districts have been selected. One district is Hoshiarpur (having highest literacy rate), second district is Patiala (having average literacy rate) and third district is Mansa(having lowest literacy rate). Then out of the 3 districts, 150 elementary schools were selected. Thus sample of study includes 150 schools out of which 50 schools were from Hoshiarpur, 50 from Patiala and 50 were from Mansa. A sample of 150 teachers of elementary schools of Punjab were taken. This research paper includes information about status of Mathematics teaching in Punjab.
