Abstract

Change is inevitable in every sphere of human activity in the society. LICs as social institutions are no exception to this phenomenon. Being open systems they need to react change in their environment and responsive to the needs of the society they are serving. But managing the Change is not an easy task especially when the organization is working in a turbulent and dynamic environment. This paper discusses about the reasons for change, their impact on human resources and functioning of libraries and the relevance and application of TQM principles in managing the change in LICs.
