Nowadays network services are reality in India for providing better library services. At this concern paper attempts an assessment of successful library networks in the country like INFLIBNET, DELNET, NICNET etc. Explains the definition, need, objectives and uses of networks. Discusses global information networks, computer communication networks and networks development in India. Finally, examines the types of networks and briefly introduces of major library networks.
