Abstract

Present paper is the outcome of the Research work leading to the award of PhD degree by the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. The study surveys the various existing services rendered by the 38 Information Centres in Maharashtra. The study is based on the responses received from the centres and the published literature available through primary, secondary sources and their respective homepages. The majority of institutions have good libraries, which provide a range of library services, maintain special bibliographic databases in their areas of interest. The study also examines the status of library automation and networking of LICs in Maharashtra.
