Abstract

University and college faculty of Haryana attending an orientation and a refresher course were surveyed for their views on different aspects of the personality of librarians. The results show that the five highly possessed qualities of librarians in faculty's view were: competent, approachable, friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. The university faculty viewed librarians more approachable while college faculty viewed them as competent. Female faculty viewed them more knowledgeable and enthusiastic while in the male faculty's view librarians were helpful and organized. Concludes that except competent all other highest ranked characteristics are personal in nature.
