Activity Profile of Chemistry Research in Some Select Universities of Uttar Pradesh

The paper investigate research activity in three sub-disciplines of chemistry of three central and three state universities of Uttar Pradesh during 2000–2009. Analysis of data indicates that central universities published more papers as compared to state universities. Aligarh Muslim University produced the highest number of papers among all universities. The patter of output during the period of study does not follow any trend and is hapazard. Activity profile of different universities indicate that organic chemistry was the preferred sub-discipline of research. A change in activity profile of universities and sub-disciplines have been observed during 2000–2004 and 2005–2009.
