RFID Technology is growing in all the areas and fields. It became popular because it increases efficiency and provides better services. This paper discusses how RFID technology works, its application areas, advantages in adopting the technology and the problems that one may face while implementing this technology. The paper also elaborates upon various types of RFID tags and the standards thereof. It gives comparative study of active tags and passive tags of RFID. The types of frequency band of RFID tags are also discussed.
