ICT Contents in Bachelor's Degree of LIS Curriculum in Select Universities in India: A Study

Abstract

Evaluation of curriculum is an essential part of the curriculum development because it helps in identifying the areas for further development, if any. This paper analyses the ICT contents in LIS curriculum in India. It evaluates the LIS bachelor's degree courses offered in different universities in India. Emphasis has been made to determine the outcomes of the existing curriculum in different universities across India, to ascertain the need for revision of the ICT course contents, to help in future development of the curriculum contents for continuous evaluation and improvement. It has been observed that requirement of innovating and inclusive contents are imperatively needed in LIS curriculum.
