The paper attempts to verify the research scenario of Library and Information Science (LIS) via ETDs, and explores their impact on research. For this study, the authors have reviewed a selected list of LIS PhD theses that were awarded during 2001 to 2010 across the countries like India, UK and USA, and explores their usage in the form of ETDs. Further, all those ETDs have been reviewed to access the research productivity, citation impact, institutions visibility, and open access of research.
