This study investigates thoroughly the efficiency and reliability of using ChatGPT, Boolean Search to seek out for the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) Numbers of Books. There has been an unprecedented increase in the demands of the Library Professionals to rapidly retrieve and with extreme accuracy classification number through the extensive usage of technological tools, which can potentially streamline the entire process. This process becomes extremely by deploying search strings, such as, (“ISBN” AND “OPAC”) OR (“Book Name” AND “OPAC”) OR (“Book Name” AND “DDC Number”) OR (“Book Name” AND “Class”). This paper scrutinises the accuracy, speed, and ease of use of these digital tools i.e., ChatGPT in generating DDC numbers. The discoveries suggest that while these tools offer significant convenience, speed, accuracy in retrieval of DDC Classification Numbers, the reliability remains a major apprehension to the mental approach of library professionals.
