Abstract

This study presents a quantitative, topic modeling based analysis of the academic and professional engagements of Professor KP Singh, Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi. We examine 355 documented engagements conducted between 2004 and 2026. Using topic modeling as the primary analytical approach, along with descriptive statistics and audience classification, latent thematic structures, interdisciplinary orientations and patterns of scholarly outreach were identified. The findings reveals dominant focus on core LIS domains, including Library Science, LIS education, and Knowledge Organization, alongside a substantial engagement with technology-driven themes such as digital transformation, automation, and ICT. Interdisciplinary clusters related to research ethics, Indian Knowledge Systems, Gandhian philosophy and emerging areas such as artificial intelligence highlight the approach to evolving academic and policy priorities. Audience and institutional analyses demonstrate more national outreach, sustained academic leadership and measurable international attendence. Overall, the study demonstrates the utility of topic modeling as an objective and replicable method to evaluate the academic engagements and scholarly impact which is beyond the traditional bibliometric indicators in LIS and its related disciplines.
