Research Productivity of ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi from 2004-2023: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

The present study performs the bibliometric analysis of the National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (ICAR-NAIP), New Delhi, encompassing 20 years based on the results of their research as reflected in the Scopus database between 2004 and 2023. The main intention of this study is to analyse the research performance of ICAR-NAIP based on their publishing output using a large variety of bibliometric measurements, which include the growth of publications year over year, document types, highly prolific authors, most preferred journals, co-authorship patterns among authors, collaboration indexes, et. al. A total of 356 research publications was found in the study. In order to accomplish this study, MS Excel and biblioshiny software were used for data analysis. Vosviewer software is also used to visualise the bibliometric study, including co-authorship among authors and collaboration among nations. The study’s significant observations unravelled that the institute’s highest-producing years were 2023 and 2022, with 44 (12.35%) and 38 (10.67%) publications, respectively. Most of the documents published during the timespan 2004–2023 were research article 295(82.86%), followed by review paper 30 (8.42%). Birthal, P.S. (51 publications, 14.32%) and Chand, R. (29 publications, 8.14%) who were considered as the most productive authors, and the highest publications (67 publications, 18.82 %) were published in the Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
