Farogh Farrkh zad is one of the most controversial poetess of modem Persian literature. She is known for her expressions regarding womens treasure of secretive emotions. A number of Persian critics have categorized her poetry as a obscene poetry mainly because of their lack of deep understanding of her style. Farough farukbzad, in fact, is a product of her times under which she has created such delightful poetry. In fact an appropriate evaluation of her work is not possible merely by giving cursory look to her expressions, instead, it needs a thorough understanding of not only her expressions, embedded into deep rooted emotions, but of the circumstances under which it found its expression. Her poetry is indeed influenced by the post World War II Persian Society where growing materialism has evaded the emotional relations of men and women. “Now the pigeons are flying in the forts of my breasts…… but I am unable to ask someone……… contact me………… contact me………” Farogh expresses the restlessness of her soul in the material world of her body, which in fact is a beautiful depiction of the trauma of modern society.
