Keshav, the great medieval poet of India, enriched both the Bhakti and Reeti period of Hindi literature. The great singer poet of Betwa (River) and symbol of medieval prosperity of Oracha, Keshav was forced to lead a life of ghostly wanderer and unwanted exile in the last stage of his life. His conscious kept on pricking throughout his remaining life that a composer of Ramchandrika like him was ultimately degraded to eulogize Jehangir, the Moghul emperor in whose praise he had to compose Jehangir-Jas-Chandrika. The feudal lords of Orcha had diverted the genius composer from the way of Bhakti and poetry. He would have enriched Hindi poetry far more provided not forced to write eulogies. I have tried to look in to this aspect in my present artice.
