Abstract

Maitriyee Pushpa is a leading short story writer and a feminist novelist in Hindi. Her novel Vision was published in 2002. This novel is a search for a vision and a perspective in the life of women. She writes about women's empowerment in a patriarchal society. Woman is now refusing to confine herself within the four walls of the house and has moved into the public sphere. She is not merely a housewife and a mother but a career conscious individual struggling to build up an identity of her own. This novel is a powerful portrayal of a women's search for an identity.
