Abstract

Hindu Law is an oldest branch of Indian legal system changing with the pace of time. Britishers established Judicial system of their own in India. They introduced English terminology in this system. In 1950 India constitution came into being which provided for the promotion of Hindi. In the post independence period process of modernisation of language commenced in the field of Hindu Law also. Efforts were made to translate English terminology of Hindu Law in Hindi by using sanskritised terms in abundance. This paper attempts to present a linguistic study of Hindi technical terms of Hindu Law.
