Mahatma Buddha is known as the founder of Buddhism. He was born in563 B.c. or 624 B.c. at a place known as Lumbini. He renounced the world and left his house at 29th Year ofhis age. After attaining enlightenment, in order to seek welfare ofmankind, Buddha tried to spread his message among the people. He preached his first sermon at Sarnath, which became as famous as Dharmachakra Pravartan in theliterature ofBuddha. Thecollection ofhispreaching are known as Sutta pittaka, Abhidhaman pittaka and Vinay pittaka. According to Lord Buddha the world is full of sorrow, therefore he impresses more on the causes of sorrow and on this basis he propounded four noble truths, ten shells and eightfold paths for the purpose of salvation.
