‘Indersabha’ play, written by Saiyad Agha Hasan ‘Amanat’, is a song and dance drama, which represents the different ideologies, cultural and social impacts of the time of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Avadh. It is a love drama, inculcates the unity and love between Hindus and Muslims discarding hate, jealousy, and rivalry prevalent before Nawab Wajid Ali Shah. It is called a ‘RAHAS’ because it is based on the love-affair of Lord Krishna, Radha and other gopikas. This play is influenced by the French, Urdu and folk styles with songs, dance and musical instruments.
To create unity, harmony and integration in our country between various sects and communities the ‘Inder Sabha’ play is relevant today also.
