The paper focuses on communicative language teaching, its significance in language teaching and its relationship with grammar instruction. As often been observed, the lack of grammar instruction in the Communicative Teaching Approach has produced learners who can communicate well, but display limited grammatical competence. This has come to existence because there has been ignorance on the integration of grammar instruction as a vital component in a communicative-based teaching approach.
