Synthesis of piperazine-1,4-bis (3-arylamido/imidoalkyl-4-methyl-benzene sulphonates) for studying their effects on cardiovascular system (CVS)

Abstract

p-Toluene sulphonic acid on reaction with amido/imidoalcanols in conc. H2SO4 afforded 3-arylamido/imidoalkyl-4-methyl-benzene sulphonic acids (1) which on treatment with piperazine hexahydrate in ethanol yielded piperazine-1,4-bis-(3-arylamido/imidoalkyl-4-methyl-benzene sulphonates) (2). The piperazine salts (2) were evaluated for their antihypertensive activity in the rats of either sex.
