Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 1997–98. Application of nitrogen and Rhizobium inoculation significantly increased the plant height (cm) and drymatter accumulation (g/plant) at various growth stages of crop. The highest yield of black gram was noticed in local strain x N20 kg/ha treatment combination. Number of pods, clusters and branches per plant test weight and biological yield also increased to a great extent by the application of N20 kg/ha and RhizobIum Inoculation.
