Abstract

The present investigation was carried out to find the effect of planting neem seedlings alongwith chickpea in root-knot nematode (M.incognita) infested soil in two trials. It was found that the presence of neem seedlings inhibited the penetration of second stage juveniles of M. incognita in roots of chickpea and restricted the root-knot incidence as indicated by the reduced in roots in the first experiment and root-knot nematode galls in the second experiment in chickpea plants sown alongwith the neem seedlings.
