Abstract

Twenty one vascular wilt resistant elite chickpea genotypes were evaluated for plant type characters, Maximum variability was observed for seed yield/plant, biological yield and plant spread. Association analysis revealed that pod bearing length, developmental period, plant spread and biological yield had positive association with seed yield, Developmental period, biological yield and 100-seed weight hod positive association with harvest index. Simple regression analysis revealed the substantial contribution of pod bearing length, plant spread and biological yield towards seed yield. Implications of these findings n relation to improvement of seed yield has been discussed
