Forty-five pigeonpea lines were studied for nodulation parameters at 40 and 60 days of crop growth. Range of variation was wide for aU nodulation traits. At 40 days stage, maximum heritability was observed for nodules per plant, whereas, at 60 days it amounted to maximum for shoot dry weight followed by nodule dry weight per plant. Significant and positive association of nodules per plant with nodule volume and nodule dry weight and between nodule volume and nodule dry weight were observed. Nodules per plant also showed highest direct effect at 40 days and nodule dry weight at 60 days with grain yield.
