Two crosses of grasspea (Lathyrus Sativus L.) namely, REDx P 28 and RED it EC 242692 were advanced up to F5 generation through Single seed descent, pedigree and random bulk methods to compare the relative efficiency of these three breeding methods in F4 and F5 generations in terms of, mean, range and variability for yield and its components. Although the pedigree method showed, in general, higher population mean but failed to retain range and variability. The Single seed descent method p~to be superior to the other two breeding methods in maintaining wide range and high variability.
