Abstract

The results of the experiment revealed that application of two sprays (first at 50% flowering and second at 15 days later) with methomyl 24L@ 2.0 ml/Iit., methomyl 24L@ 1.5 ml/lit., diflubcnzuron 25WP @0.8 g/lit and teflubenzuron 15SC @0.66 ml/lit gave more than 50 per cent protection against pod borer compared to untreated control. However, highest grain yield of 14.43 q/ha was recorded by carbaryl 50WP @ 2 g/lit + teflubenzuron 15SC @ 0.66 ml/lit with 62.87 per cent increased yield, followed by two sprays of endosulfan 35EC @1.0 ml/lit + teflubenzuron 15SC @ 0.66 ml/lit (13.19 q/ha), methomyl 24L @1.5ml/lit(12.97 q/ha), methomyl 24L @ 2.00 ml/lit (12.86 q/ha) and carbaryl 50WP @ 2 g/lit+ diflubenzuron 25WP @ 0.8 g/lit (12.75 q/ha) with 48.87, 46.39, 45.15 and 43.91 per cent increased yield over untreated control.
