Seventy five hybrids of pea obtained from crossing 15 lines and five testers in a line x tester mating design and their 20 parents were evaluated for seed and eight yields related traits in two dates of sowing i.e. normal sown crop (NSC) and late sown crop (LSC) conditions. Substantial amount of heterosis (above 50%) over better parent (HBP) and mid parent (HMP) was observed in four crosses (viz., LMR 20 x Pusa 10, LMR 20 x PG 3, HFP 4 x HUPI2, 5143 x Pusa 10) for seed yield in both the environments. These crosses also had high heterosis for one or more of the other traits. The highest HBP was obtained in case of plant height, whereas lowest for seed weight. The level of heterosis for seed yield in LSC were higher than that in NSC for most of the characters.
