Abstract

Fourteen agro-morphological characters were studied for their inter-relationships using 28 advanced elite derivatives of macrosperma x microsperma crosses at two locations Le, Palampur and Sundernagar, Biological yield per plant, harvest index, pods per plant, fertile nodes per plant, pods per node, 100-seed weight, seeds per pod and plant height were found to be correlated positively and significantly at phenotypic level with seed yield per plant and their genotypic counterparts were also observed to be of higher order in the same direction. Path analysis revealed that biological yield per plant, harvest index and pods per plant registered the substantiallarger effects on seed yield. Therefore, a plant ideotype is postulated bearing higher biomass, harvest index, 100-seed wiehgt, pods per plant, fertile nodes per plant, pods per node, seeds per pod and plant height which could enhance the seed yield of lentil in such type of generated materials.
