Abstract

Efficacy of some synthetic pyrethroids viz., cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate along with endosullan were evaluated on the basis of pod damage, seed damage and seed weight loss against pod fly, Melanagromyza obtusa Malloch attacking pigeonpea. It was found thal all the insecticide treated plots prove significanlly better in reducing pod damage, seed damage and seed weight loss than the plots with no trealment. Cypermelhrin treated plots registered the lower damage and weight less. The highest average yield was recorded in cypermethrin treated plots (28.06 q/ha) which was significantly more than endosullan (25.10 q/ha) and fenvalerate (25.94 q/ha) but at par with deitamethrin (26.69 q/ha) treated plots.
