The effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on crop growth and yield of greengram was studied. Crop growth rate values varied between 6.11 to 31.4 g/m2/d with fertiljzer as compared to 4.69 to28.31g/m2/d in control. Maximum Net assimilation rate values of 17.56g/m2/d with leaf area index values of 3.176 were recorded. Application of nitrogen 20 kg/ha and phosphorous 60 kg/ha caused significant differences in Leaf area ratios indicating better partitioning of dry matter, increased number of pods and seed yield.
