Abstract

Commercial formulations of biocontrol agensts Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluorescens were evaluated against chickpea wilt during 1998–99 and 1999–2000 under sick-plot conditions. Seed treatment with Trichoderma viride (Co)+ soil application recorded 12.1 per cent wilt incidence closely followed by seed treatment (Sn with T. viride (Co) alone (12.6%) on cultivar Annigeri-1 when compared to control (42.7%). Hence, seed treatment with biocontrol agent T. viride(4 g/kg of seed) is recommended as ecofriendly approach for the management of chickpea wilt.
