Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 1998–99 to evaluate the effect of bio-organic fertilizers with Mussoorie rockphosphate (MRP) on the growth and yield of greengram. The results indicates that use of bio-organic fertilizers alone or MRP alone did not show the significant difference. But its efficiency was enhanced by the synergetic and cumulative effects of combining MRP with bio-organic fertilizers viz., farmyard manure, enriched bio-digested slurry, sheep manure and phosphobacteria inoculation. The highest growth and yield components of greengram was recorded in application of 25 kg of P2O5 ha−1 as MRP and enriched bio-digested slurry @ 5 t ha−1 along with phosphobacteria (2 kg ha1) inoculation and was closely followed by application of 25 kg of P2O5 ha−1 as MRP and sheep manure @ 5 t ha−1 along with phosphobacteria inoculation. The least growth and yield was noticed in control treatment.
