A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 1997–98 and 1998–99 to study the effect of polyethylene film mulch On the groundnut leaf minor (GLM) incidence and yield attributes and yield of groundnut. The pooled results revealed that polyethylene film mulching resulted in reduced incidence of leafminer when compared to non mulched plots. Among the different treatments tried crop raised under broad bed and furrow with polyethylene film mulch significantly recorded the lowest leafminer incidence of 8.5% when compared to control 61.9%. The maximum values of yield attributes and pod yield of 2239 kg/ha was also recorded with the same treatment which is 31.8% increase over normal sowing.
