Rhizobium and VA Mycorrhizal inoculation effect on mungbean (Vigna radiata) with varying phosphorus levels
Abstract
Combined inoculation of Rhizobium + VAM (Glomus caledoniu~ resulted in significantly more nodule number at 30 and 50 DAS and grah1 yield of field grown mungbean (Vigna radiata) with numerical increase in plant biomass over single inoculation with either Rhizobium or VAM in a soil of medium P status. Inoculation of VAM also significantly increased infection in plant roots over without inoculation treatment. The applied P doses (0,25,50 and 75 kg P2O5/ha significantly reduced the per cent VAM infections at both the stages. However, increasing P level significantly increased the plant dry matter at SODAS and grain yield over no P application.
