Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to study the influence of different production factors on yield of groundnut for 4 years on sandy loam soil. Pod yield was significantly influenced by adoption of all the production factors like improved variety (JL 24), seed treatment with carbendizim, recommended spacing (30 x 10 cm), recommended weed control twice, one irrigation given during pod maturation stage and need based plant protection for BND. Higher pod yield of 1864 kg/ha, haulm yield of 2307 kg/ha, shelling percentage 69.5% and net returns Rs.10, 488/ha with B:C ratio of 2.23 was obtained by the combination of aU production factors than control. The contribution of different production factors was 23.8% with improved variety, 8.6% with seed treatment with carbendizim, 19.6% with recommended spacing and 31% with one -protective irrigation at pod filling stage. Lower contribution to the yield with recommended fertilizer was due to high soil fertility.
