Abstract

Leaf discs of eleven genotypes of Glycine max were cultured on three different fortifications of MS medium i.e. MS30D (30.0 mg P 2,4-D), MS10PB (10.0 mg l−1 PCPA+ 0.5 mg P BAP) and MS3PB (3.0 mg P PCPA+ 0.5 mg l−1 BAP). High significant differences in the response of genotypes, culture media and genotype x medium interactions were experimented for callus initiation {Qrmation of morphogenic and shoot forming calli and plantlet regeneration from leaf discs. Results designated combination of an auxin at a higher level and BAP at a lower level most responsive for all culture phases of soybean leaf discs.
