Abstract

The effect of inoculation of different Rhizobium strains on nodulation per plant and grain yield of chickpea cultivar Vijay studied consecutively for three years has revealed that, out of 18 Rhizobium strains tested, the local best (MPKV) was found superior over all other strains and recorded the highest grain yield (29.4 qlha) and number of nodules/plant (53). The grain yield of cultivar, Vijay increased by 0.64 to 17.24 per cent over untreated control.
