Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during pre-kharifseason (March to June) of 1999 and 2000 on ! sandy clay loam soil of neutral reaction to study the growth productivity nutrient uptake and economics of black gram at different levels of potassium and sulphur under irrigated and non-irrigated condition. Maximum dry matter accumulation. yield attributes and seed yield of black gram were found with the application of 30 kg K2O/ha. 30 kg S/ha and an irrigation at early pod filling stage (seed yield of 9.4 q/ha, 9.1 q/ha and 9.3 q/ha, respectively). Maximum nutrient uptake and Net Production Value (NPV) were also obtained when the crop was fertilized with 30 kg K2/ha and 30 kg S/ha.
