Gene action and combining ability analysis was carried out using 5 x 5 diallel set of soybean crosses aloag with the parents. Analysis of six plant and four yield attributing characters revealed that most of plant characters might be governed by additive gene effects, whereas the non-additive and complex of additive and non-additive gene effects played an important role in the expression of yield attributing characters. Bragg and JS-335 were good combiner for desirable plant and yield attributing characters.
