Abstract

Fifty-one collections of white clover (forty-three indigenous and 8 exotic) were evaluated and were categorized using metroglyph and index score analysis. These were grouped into 8 clusters. Cluster ITJ was the largest with 23.52% of collections. The cumulative index score ranged from 12 (RRCP-L-51) to 27 (RRCP-L-12). About 14% collections had highest mean index score of 17. Cluster V had highest mean index score of 20.8. The study revealed that these white clover collections are highly variable. On the basis of highest cumulative index score, eight collections were identified. These collections bear the desirable traits and hence can be used in the improvement programme of white clover.
