To identify pathotypes/races of chickpea wilt pathogen (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri) in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra the wilted plants of chickpea were collected from six different locations in five Tahasils viz., Shrirampur, Kopergaon, Sangamner, Rahata, Rahuri and M.P.K.V., Rahuri. Six isolates of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri from wilted plants were found pathogenic to cultivar JG-62. The grouping of these isolates was done on the basis of their pathogenicity on 10 wilt differential genotypes of chickpea. The isolates did not differ when grouping was done on the basis of cultural and morphological characters. The reactions of pathogenic groups of these isolates were compared with standard reaction of already identified races. It was found that race-1 was wide spread in all the 5 tahsils of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
