Abstract

Study was conducted to identify resistant lines against sterility mosaic disease in F3 generation of nine interspecific hybrids derived between wild species viz., Cajanus cajanifolius, Cajanus acutifolius and Cajanus scarabaeoides and three lines viz,. UPAS120, Pant A134 and ICPL84023 of cultivated sps. Cajanus cajan. Among the nine progenies of interspecific hybrids that were evaluated against sterility mosaic disease, the progenies of four crosses UPAS120 × C. cajanifolius, Pant A 134 × C. scarabaeoides, Pant A134 × C. cajanifolius and ICPL84023 × C. scarabaeoides showed mosaic disease incidence was less than 10%. Out of three wild species the two wild species namely Cajanus scarabaeoides and Cajanus cajanifolius showed resistance.
